As part of its mandate to support Africa’s creative and cultural industries, CANEX, in Partnership with Narrative Landscape Press and The James and Grace Adichie Foundation., plans a year-long programme of interventions to spotlight and elevate the African book value chain.Titled The CANEX Book Factory, this initiative will aim to increase capacity in the African literary sector. The programme of interventions includes:
The CANEX Prize for Publishing in AfricaA pan-African creative writing workshop;A bi-monthly resource email newsletter, curating legal, accounting and creative writing resources for writers, editors, agents, publishers and booksellers for African writers and book industry players.
To help you establish your presence on CANEX.AFRICA and apply for the CANEX Prize for Publishing in Africa, please follow the steps outlined below:

Step 1. Onboarding and Creating a Profile here on CANEX.AFRICA

CANEX.AFRICA is a digital platform designed to connect professionals in Africa’s Creative and Cultural Industries (CCI). To get started: Click on the “Register” button at the top of the page to create a CANEX.AFRICA account. If you already have an account, click the login button. The platform will guide you through a customized onboarding process tailored to your sector, helping you manage your profile and preferences effectively. After setting up your profile, you can fully engage with the various services offered by CANEX.AFRICA:
Connect with other creatives. Showcase your projects. Collaborate on new ideas Utilize AI-driven tools to find potential partners, investors, or collaborators that align with your interests and projects Pitch your projects to investors in a secure, digital environment, facilitating potential deals and collaborations.

Step 2. Apply for the CANEX Prize for Publishing in Africa

Once you log in to CANEX.AFRICA, and land on the CANEX Book Factory page. Click on the CANEX Prize for Publishing button. You’ll be directed to the CANEX Prize for Publishing webpage, which outlines the submission eligibility requirements and provides a registration link. This link will guide you to Evalato, an external platform we’re utilizing to gather and assess submissions.
To register for the CANEX Prize for Publishing in Africa, navigate to the bottom of the dedicated webpage and complete the registration process.
